pedestal samplePedestal Program

The OSLHF proposes to honour its athletes with a pedestal walk of fame that will be free to the public in a location that offers suitable ambiance as well as sports heritage.

Individual four-foot (1.2m) high pedestals will be constructed for each Inductee. A bronze plaque adorning the slanted top will provide a brief biography.

The pedestals can be placed either along a street or roadway in the chosen town/city so that they project a sense of a first class tourist attraction, or in a green space where the pedestals will be the highlight of what would be known as “Legends Park.”

An archway, or portal, will lead the public down the line of pedestals, or into the park, with a gift shop in the vicinity from which to merchandise OSLHF souvenirs and collectibles.

Situated in an urban setting and with a professional marketing and public relations program in place, the OSLHF Pedestal Walk could become a sports/tourist destination attracting visitors to the host city.

The host city must commit to featuring the OSLHF Pedestal Walk in its tourism, marketing and public relations programs.
Major marketing and public relations programs will be ongoing by the OSLHF, with the highlight of each year being the induction of newly elected members to the Ontario Sports Legends Hall of Fame.
Revenues from the OSLHF would be divided with it’s future host. These may include admittance fees, electronic gaming machines, special events such as sport celebrities autograph days, and of course, the high profile Induction Event.
It is expected, and required, that whatever location is chosen as the site for the OSLHF, that it would be at no cost to the OSLHF.
